Hypnosis used in therapy
What can do Hypnotherapy can help treat a wide variety of issues.
It can be very effective in alleviating physical, emotional and mental health issues, boosting confidence and self-esteem, dealing effectively with addictions, sleep problems, sexual dysfunction, and weight control issues.
Hypnotherapy can also help to enhance performance including business, education and sports,
In fact, hypnotherapy can be used to improve almost all areas of human activity. It is important to appreciate though, that hypnosis is not magic.
As such, hypnotherapy is not a miracle cure for anything. It can be spectacularly successful for many people, but like all therapies, hypnotherapy is not always successful. Everyone is unique and everyone’s response to hypnotherapy is different. Because of this, results and response times vary from person to person.
Most people seek therapy because they have some undesired behaviour such as smoking, a quick temper, over-eating, phobic reaction and other habits and compulsions that they wish to change.
For example, someone might experience a panic attack when asked to make a presentation to work colleagues.
They know logically that they should be able to speak with confidence but for some reason their body has responded differently to this logic.
Many existing therapies such as hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT and EMDR offer effective ways of dealings with these brain responses and behaviours but not all therapies work for everyone all of the time.
HYPNOSIS - INFO
Hypnosis (the auto-pilot, daydreaming state we all experience daily) by itself is unlikely to cause a relief of issues, although it rarely fails to provide welcomed relaxation and stress relief. It is the 'therapy' carried out during the altered state of awareness referred to as hypnotherapy that is significant.
How long do the effects of hypnosis last?
Again this is really dependant on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take 50 - 60 minutes.
